Privacy Policy
Last updated November 2, 2026. Applies to Jungle ID, Gorilla Scheduling Online and Shot Monkey.
This policy explains what information Gorilla Scheduling Online (operated by Jungle Software) collects, how it is used, and how it is protected. Unproduced screenplays and production data are confidential, and we treat them that way throughout. It also applies to Shot Monkey, Jungle Software's storyboard and shot list app; what is specific to Shot Monkey is in Section 4. Your Jungle ID, the single sign-in used by these applications, is described in Section 1A.
1. What we collect
- Account information: your name and email address, held in your Jungle ID for the applications that use it (see Section 1A), and otherwise in the application's own account.
- Your projects: screenplays, breakdown data, schedules, contacts, and other production data you create or upload.
- Billing records: which plan you're subscribed to and your billing history. Payment card details are handled entirely by Stripe — we never see or store them.
- Basic usage data (e.g. login activity) needed to operate and secure the Service.
1A. Jungle ID (your single sign-in)
- One account, used across applications: your Jungle ID is a single account that signs you in to the Jungle Software applications that use it. It is operated by Jungle Software at id.junglesoftware.com. Today that is Gorilla Scheduling Online, Gorilla Budgeting Online, the Gorilla Ratebook and Shot Monkey.
- What Jungle ID stores: your name, your email address (and whether you have verified it), your password (stored only as a one-way hash; we cannot read it), the date you registered, which applications you have used and when you first and most recently signed in to each, and, if you ask to delete your account, the date of that request.
- What each application receives: when you sign in to an application, Jungle ID tells it who you are — your name, email address, whether your email is verified, and a permanent anonymous identifier for your account. It does not give an application your password. Each application separately holds the projects and other data you create in it.
- Status checks: applications ask Jungle ID from time to time whether your account is still active, so that a suspended or deleted account loses access promptly.
- Sign-up and email: Jungle ID sends verification and password-reset emails through our email delivery provider, Postmark. The sign-up form uses Google reCAPTCHA to block automated sign-ups; Google receives information about your browser and device to do this, under its own privacy policy.
- Deleting: you can ask to leave a single application, or to delete your whole Jungle ID, using the control in the application if it has one or by emailing support@junglesoftware.com. Deleting your Jungle ID removes your account and, after a 14-day period during which you can change your mind, your data in every application that uses it. See Section 6 and the Terms of Service.
2. How your data is stored and protected
- Uploaded files and project data are stored in private cloud storage. They are never made public.
- Screenplay text is never written to application logs.
- Your data persists for as long as your account exists. You may delete a project at any time — deletion is immediate and permanent.
3. AI processing
For accounts using AI-assisted breakdown, only the screenplay text needed to generate suggested tags is sent to our third-party AI provider, under terms that exclude using your content to train their models. Your script is never shared for any other purpose.
4. Shot Monkey
Shot Monkey (shotmonkey.junglesoftware.com) is a separate Jungle Software app that you sign in to with your Jungle ID. Everything in this policy applies to it, along with the following.
- What it stores: your projects — screenplay text you import or type, storyboards and shot lists, the shot images you upload or generate, character, outfit and location reference photos, and comments. Images are kept in private storage and shown only to you and the collaborators you invite.
- AI shot images: when you generate or modify a shot image, the text prompt built from your shot (its description, the scene's setting and mood, character descriptions and outfits, props, and the style you chose) is sent to our AI image provider, OpenAI, together with any reference photos for the characters, outfits or location in the shot — and, when you modify an image, the shot's current image. This is used solely to create that image. Under the provider's API terms, this content is not used to train its models; the provider may keep it for a limited period for abuse monitoring, as its terms allow. We keep a record of each request (the prompt, the date and the account) to count your AI image allowance and to help if something goes wrong.
- Importing a shot list: when you import a shot list (a PDF, Word or Excel file), the file's contents and your project's list of shot types are sent to OpenAI to read the shots in it. This is used solely to read that file. Under the provider's API terms, this content is not used to train its models; the provider may keep it for a limited period for abuse monitoring, as its terms allow. We delete the uploaded file as soon as it has been read, and what was found is kept for review for at most a day; a record of each import (the file's name, the date and the account) is kept for 40 days to count your monthly imports.
- Photos of people: a reference photo of a person is that person's personal information. Upload one only with their permission. You can replace or delete a photo at any time.
- Email: account emails (email verification, password resets, project invitations) are sent through our email delivery provider, Postmark.
- Sign-up: you create your account at Jungle ID (see Section 1A), whose sign-up form uses Google reCAPTCHA.
- Mailing list: the first time you sign in to Shot Monkey, your name and email address are added to the Jungle Software mailing list in Constant Contact, for product news and updates. You can unsubscribe at any time with the link in any of those emails.
- Billing: Pro subscriptions and AI image packs are processed by Stripe, as above.
- Backups: projects and images are backed up nightly to private backup storage and kept for 30 days.
- Deleting: you can delete a project at any time, or leave Shot Monkey (which deletes your Shot Monkey projects, images, Shot Library and data) in Preferences, or delete your whole Jungle ID (Section 6). Copies in backups expire within 30 days.
5. Who we share data with
- Our AI providers, solely for accounts using AI-assisted breakdown (see above) or Shot Monkey's AI shot images and shot list imports (see Section 4).
- Stripe, to process subscription billing.
- Postmark, our email delivery provider, to send account emails (verification, password reset, invitations), and Google (reCAPTCHA) at sign-up, as described in Section 1A.
- Our cloud hosting and storage providers, solely to run the Service.
- We do not sell your data or your screenplays to anyone, ever.
6. Your rights
You can delete any project and its derived data at any time. You can also ask to leave a single application, or to delete your whole Jungle ID, which after a 14-day period (in which you can cancel by signing in) permanently deletes your account and your data in every application that uses it; backups expire within 30 days. If the application has no control for this yet, contact us (Section 9) and we will process the request.
7. Children's privacy
The Service is not directed at children and is not knowingly used to collect information from anyone under 16.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date above.
9. Contact
Questions about this policy, or requests regarding your data, can be sent to support@junglesoftware.com.
